The 32nd Annual Speech Day of Po Leung Kuk Vicwood K.T. Chong Sixth Form College was successfully held on Friday, 24th May 2024. It is our great pleasure to have Dr Chan Hung Cheong Morton, Director of Quality School Improvement Project and Professional Consultant of the Hong Kong Institute of Educational Research of the Chinese University of Hong Kong, as the Guest of Honour this year.
We were honoured that the ceremony was attended by distinguished guests, including Mrs Amanda T W Lee, Vice-Chairman of Po Leung Kuk and Supervisor of the College; Mrs Winnie W L Chan, Member of the Advisory Board of Po Leung Kuk; Ms Chan Ho Yan Florence, Deputy Chief Executive Officer of Po Leung Kuk; and Ms Yeung Po Yan, Chairperson of our Parent-Teacher Association (PTA). Many parents also joined the ceremony to celebrate their children's achievements across various disciplines and witness this significant milestone in their educational journey via livestream in classrooms.
The ceremony commenced at 10:45 a.m. in the School Hall. Opening the event, School Supervisor Mrs Lee delivered a warm address, followed by our Principal’s presentation of the school's annual report. Dr Chan, our Guest of Honour, delivered an inspiring speech emphasizing the importance of continuous learning, cultivating a positive mindset, anticipating the differences between high school and university education, and gaining a deeper understanding of the real working world. He encouraged students to develop skills beyond academics, particularly fostering the right work attitude, self-learning ability, and proficient interpersonal communication skills to navigate the uncertainties and address challenges in the future.
A remarkable highlight of the ceremony was the formal presentation of graduation certificates to 123 proud graduates of the College by our Guest of Honour Dr Chan, School Supervisor Mrs Lee, and PLK Advisory Board Member Mrs Chan. Other distinguished guests presented various prizes and awards to our students, including academic prizes, service awards, conduct prizes, and S6 PTA Award.
Representing the graduating classes, Mr Cai Dongxian of class 6A delivered his valedictorian speech. He expressed sincere gratitude to teachers, school staff, and parents and bade all students to embark on their journeys ahead with the gust of goodwill.
The ceremony concluded at 12:05 p.m., marked by a memorable photo-taking session capturing the cherished moments between the esteemed guests, graduates, and dedicated teachers. The morning was filled with reflection and joy as the graduates reunited with their teachers, classmates, and friends. We extend our heartfelt congratulations to all graduates and wish them all the very best as they forge ahead on their new life paths.
保良局莊啟程預科書院第三十二屆畢業典禮
本校第三十二屆畢業典禮已於2024年5月24日﹙星期五﹚順利舉行，香港教育研究所優質學校改進計劃總監暨專業顧問陳鴻昌博士蒞臨擔任主禮嘉實，全體師生欣幸之至！
承蒙嘉賓鼎力支持，光臨指導，增輝添慶，不勝感銘。該日出席嘉賓包括：保良局副主席暨本校校監李何芷韻女士、保良局顧問局成員陳黎惠蓮女士、保良局副行政總監陳可恩女士及家長教師會主席楊寶欣女士。眾家長親臨本校，在課室觀賞畢業典禮現場直播，目睹子女獲取學業成就的喜悅時刻，同時見證子女踏入人生重要里程碑。
上午十時四十五分，本校於禮堂舉行典禮，先由校監李何芷韻女士致歡迎辭，接著邱萬光校長作校務報告，主禮嘉賓陳鴻昌博士亦隨後致辭。他發表了鼓舞人心的講話，強調持續學習，鼓勵學子培養積極心態，為高中與大學教育之間的差異早作預想，以及深入了解真實世界的運作模式。陳博士鼓勵學生培養學業以外的技能，特別是培養正確的工作態度、自學能力和熟練的人際溝通技巧，以應對未來的不確定性，迎接各項挑戰。
其後，陳博士、何校監與陳顧問分別給今屆123位畢業生頒贈畢業證書，其他嘉賓也分別給畢業生頒發學業成績獎、服務獎、操行獎及家教會獎學金。
畢業生代表蔡東賢發表致謝辭，感激老師、教職員及家長的悉心教導與關懷，並祝願同學前程錦繡、鵬程萬里。
最後，各位嘉賓與全體老師合照，第三十二屆畢業典禮於下午12時05分圓滿結束。畢業禮可以讓嘉賓、家長、老師與畢業生聚首一堂，同心慶賀，送上祝福，隆情盛意，至足銘感！
